Tints: polarised, solid, graduated
Polarised Tints
Polarised tints are an effective safeguard against reflected glare, completely blocking out UVA/B light rays. Contrast is enhanced, allowing for a more comfortable visual experience in bright sunlight reflected from water, wet roads, foggy conditions, and snow.
On the other hand, polarised lenses can hinder your ability to read phones and other hand-held devices with LCD screens, as these screens are designed to reduce glare through polarisation. If the polarisation of the lenses and the LCD screens do not match, then part or all of the display may not be viewable.
Solid Tints
Solid tints offer a selection of subtle shades, such as brown, green and grey, that remain true to the original colour of objects. UV400 protection is included to guard your eyes from UVA/B radiation. Furthermore, brightness is diminished by up to three-quarters.
Graduated Tints
Graduated tints provide a variety of hues and increased visibility for the base of a car windshield, transitioning from a darkened top to a nearly transparent shade. This makes them a perfect option for drivers, improving their ability to see the dashboard and reduced sun glare from above.
ANTI-REFLECT COATINGS
Anti-reflection coatings, otherwise known as AR or MAR, consist of multiple layers of coating to reduce glare from different spectrums of light. By decreasing undesired reflections from the lens surfaces, more light is transmitted through the lens and this results in superior visibility.
Thin lenses with high reflectivity necessitate anti-reflective coatings, thereby each of our thinner lens packages are equipped with such coatings as a standard feature.
The advanced anti-reflection coating has the additional advantage of providing water-resistant, grease-resistant, and anti-static layers. Furthermore, anti-reflection coatings are designed to diminish undesirable halo effects and the rings that may appear around car headlights.
Maintaining the cleanliness of anti-reflection lenses is important, as smudges can become more noticeable and limit your field of view. To guarantee maximum clarity it is suggested that these lenses be regularly wiped with a gentle cloth made for optical lenses.
HARD COATINGS
A scratch-resistant coating is applied to the lens surface to provide protection against minor abrasions, such as when cleaning the lens with a tissue. We strongly recommend using a soft cloth to clean lenses for optimal protection.
ANTI-STATIC COATINGS
An anti-static coating on a lens can reduce the build-up of dust and debris, thus improving its clarity and hygiene. Furthermore, this treatment simplifies the cleaning process of the lens.
WATER-REPELLENT COATINGS
A hydrophobic coating can also be applied to the surface of a lens, creating a water-resistant barrier that facilitates the efficient and swift removal of moisture.
OLEOPHOBIC COATINGS
Oleophobic coatings on lenses provide a smooth surface that is resistant to fingerprints and oil smudges, thus facilitating the easy removal of any residue. This ensures a clear, unblemished lens with no need for extended wiping.
