At South Devon Optical we are extremely proud of our rimless glazing. We are able to Glaze all Rimless mounts from any manufacturer, using state of the art fully automatic machinery which vastly increases efficiency and gives a high quality finished product.

Freeform Optical Wholesaler
We have recently updated our Freeform catalogue to include three new lenses designs supplied at three different and very competitive price points. Helping to make dispensing as easy as 1,2,3!
The full range of materials include Clear, Polarised, Transitions 8, Xtracvitve, Transition style colours, unbranded photochromic, Polarised, our Bluemax blue blocking material, Drivewear and Xtractive polarised.
All of which can be paired with one of our six coatings:
- Standard Hard coat
- HMAR, Hard MAR coating
- HMAR EZY, Hard Hydrophobic Easy clean MAR
- HMAR BLUE, Blue blocking MAR
- HMAR SUN, Back surface only Hard MAR
All three lens designs are available in a wide power range and a full range of lens materials and indices enabling you to offer every patient the complete choice whatever their budget.
1. Elite Prime
This is a modern Freeform lens design available at an entry level price point making it the ideal choice for the cost-conscious wearer or as the perfect sunglass or second pair.
It is available in two corridors with minimum fitting heights of 18 for the full corridor and 15 for the short corridor version.
2. Vultus
This is our mid-range progressive as such our most popular design. It offers a smoother power transition, a wider reading zone and reduced peripheral distortion.
Available in 3 corridors, Regular, with a minimum fitting height of 19, Short, minimum fitting height of 17 and Extra short with a minimum fitting height of 15.
3. Vuluts HD
This our premium personalised progressive, it features the same distinctive lens design as the Vultus version but with the extra ability to incorporate some extra measurements further reducing distortion and swim and sway offering the patient a high definition more natural vison with its tailored design. The extra measurements required the Pantoscopic tilt, wrap and BVD. It is also possible to select the optimum corridor for the fitting heights by choosing from 14-18 corridors in 1mm increments.
Glazing Lab Software
We have glazing lab software which enables us to make the best possible cosmetic lens for each frame and our glazing workshop uses the latest Nidek glazing machines for a super high quality lens finish.
We are extremely proud of our rimless glazing, and we use a Nidek Multifunction Edger, which ensures consistent results with every job.
Turnaround Time
Our aim at South Devon Optical is to produce finished spectacles to the highest possible standard, ensuring a quality product and service. We’ll also do our very best to turnaround any order in as little time as possible!
